Washington, DC – (June 19, 2019) The National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders (NAAHL) welcomes the introduction of the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (NHIA) (H.R. 1337) by Reps. Brian Higgins (D-NY 26th District) and Mike Kelly (R-PA 16th District). The NHIA would revitalize distressed urban, suburban, and rural communities by mobilizing private investment in the construction and rehabilitation of 500,000 homes sold to moderate- and middle-income homeowners over the next decade.
Washington, DC – (June 5, 2019) Today, National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders (NAAHL) will host its annual Policy and Practice conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Housing industry leaders and policy makers from banks, financial institutions, non-profits and federal agencies will discuss ‘What’s Next for Neighborhood Finance’ and provide updates on affordable housing policies such as the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and opportunity zones.
Washington, DC – (June 14, 2018) Today, the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders (NAAHL) will host their Annual Policy & Practice Conference titled, “Scaling Innovative Strategies for Affordable Housing” at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. This year’s conference will feature a discussion with Comptroller of the Currency Joseph Otting about his plans to update rules implementing the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), a law that requires banks to help meet community credit needs, including those of low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) will be the Lunch Keynote speaker at NAAHL’s annual conference Thursday, November 2. Sen. Cantwell is the lead sponsor of S. 548, the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act. Sen. Cantwell will speak 12:45-1:15 p.m.
