NAAHL Welcomes Treasury's Announcement of FY 2025 CDFI Fund Awards

Long-awaited capital is moving to CDFIs nationwide. NAAHL calls for continued bipartisan support to strengthen the CDFI Fund's role leveraging private capital.

The National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders (NAAHL) welcomes the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s announcement of FY 2025 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Program and Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program awards.

These long-awaited resources will provide critical capital to CDFIs working in communities across the country—supporting small businesses, affordable homes, community facilities, and greater access to responsible financial products and services.

“We are pleased to see these resources moving to CDFIs and the communities they serve,” said Sarah Brundage, President and CEO of NAAHL. “We appreciate Secretary Bessent’s leadership in getting these awards across the finish line, and commend Director Chris Miller and the dedicated CDFI Fund staff for their work to complete the process.

"We are also grateful for the continued bipartisan support for the CDFI Fund on Capitol Hill. The Senate's Community Development Finance Caucus, co-chaired by Senators Mark Warner and Mike Crapo, has been a consistent champion, and we appreciate Senator Crapo and Representative Young Kim's leadership in bringing together more than 100 of their Republican colleagues to reaffirm support for the Fund's role in expanding economic opportunity in communities across the country.

“NAAHL looks forward to working with Director Miller, Treasury, Congress, and our members to build on this progress and strengthen the CDFI Fund’s ability to leverage private capital and support communities that have historically had less access to it.”

NAAHL has been an active advocate for releasing these resources, joining partners in March to call on the Administration to release more than $1 billion in CDFI Fund and Capital Magnet Fund dollars. We look forward to continuing that work with policymakers and our members as the FY 2025 awards are put to work in communities nationwide.
